Drumbo 2 Rathfern Rngrs 2
Rathfern Rangers gained the point they needed to clinch the Championship to go along with the Cochrane and Corry Cup which they won earlier in the week.
Rangers needed only a point, but they knew full well that third-from-bottom Drumbo weren't the whipping boys their league position would make you believe.
Anything other than a draw and Rathfern, while guaranteed promotion, would have had to meet Ballywalter in a play-off for the championship trophy - the same Ballywalter who had taken three out of four league points off Rangers.
Old faithful Stanley O'Connor gave Rathfern the early tonic, chesting down a David McCrea free-kick to go on and give the 'keeper no chance.
Drumbo quickly restored the equilibrium, although O'Connor and the McCartney brothers, Glyn and Ryan, all had chances to restore the lead before the break.
Instead it was Drumbo who looked set for the shock of the day, taking the lead for the first time, just after the resumption.
However, not for the first time, veteran striker O'Connor was Rathfern's saviour, with a 25-yard rocket right into the top corner of the net.
