Rathfern Rangers is an amateur football club from the outskirts of Belfast (Northern Ireland). We were established in 1974 and competed in the Dunmurry league ,playing our home games at a local pitch on the Rathfern estate. In 1985 we then joined the Irish Churches League and then became the most exciting and successful team in the leagues history! Then in 1988 we moved to a new pitch at Three Mile Water (Doagh Road) which was to be a very successful period in our history , winning seven Division 1 titles in ten years. In 1998 we moved to a great new pitch at The Diamond in Rathcoole which we still use to this day. The pitch and facilities have been greatly looked after by the local council and the visiting clubs have commented on how good they are. In 2001 we then got our big break and joined the Amateur League Division 2c. In our first season we finished 1st by 1 point from Ballywalter. Our rivals 18th Newtownabbey O.B. finished a close 3rd even though they topped the table for most of the season. Rathfern also won the Cochraine And Corry Cup in May beating Bloomfield 3-2 at Dunmurry Rec.
